The Bills aims to give effect to the constitutional right to privacy, by introducing measures to ensure that organizations process personal information in a fair, responsible and secure manner.
Companies that fail to safeguard personal information of customers and employees could face civil liability claims, criminal sanctions and reputational damage. The Privacy Lecture will include:
• An overview of the current information protection legislation impacting the insurance industry
• An introduction to the information protection principles contained in the PPI Bill
• Understanding the practical implications of the PPI Bill for the insurance industry
• What other organizations are doing to get ready for the PPI Bill
